Approached by a property investor’s accountant to assist them in identifying the capital allowances on the client’s historic commercial property portfolio. This contained a mixture of second hand acquisitions and capital expenditure projects. Total expenditure on the portfolio was £4,000,000.

All available information was gathered from the accountant and the client. An initial report and proposal was produced. This detailed the issues to be considered, estimate of capital allowances, the tax saving and our professional fees. Following appointment £1,000,000 of capital allowances were identified from the portfolio.
